Thanks to Ben I am now running Tiger OMG I love this operating system already. I have some of my stocks on the stock ticker already, and I’m trying out all the different programs and searching for stuff on my computer. I have found the long-lost missing yurt poem, and indexed all of the materials in all my files relevant to the epic poem. It’s pretty darn cool. I even found the king-list of Orien, which I didn’t even remember writing.
Thanks to Pages, I’ve wowed my colleagues and students with handouts on the Korean War and The Cuban Missile Crisis. RF, RM, and SB were causing all sorts of giggly fits in class, and KL was certainly helping them in mischief. So I didn’t get as far as I wanted to get in class. Right after lunch is always a hard time to have seventh graders. It’s not exactly seventh heaven.
My sermon this morning was very well received. I talked about my experiences over a year ago in temple, when I saw the deep darkness flooding out of the ark, and my sense of awe and mystery that this had happened. It was very well received, and kids have been stopping me in the hallway all day to say how much they liked it. Thanks, for helping me get my courage up to do that. Thanks to Julie Woods, too, for words at Forrest’s house this weekend. It went all very well.

My school has agreed to install a digital projector in my classroom in time for fall classes, plus a sound system. So in the near future, I will be able to use Keynote as a wonderful new tool for teaching.
I don’t know if you can help with this or not, but I for one would like some 8.5″x14″ templates to play with, for creating booklets and mini-books. 8.5″x11″ pages are all very well, but my students tend to lose parts of things not stapled together.
Other than that, iWork is terrific. I even played with Keynote for a while, though as yet I have no easy way to use it for presentations in class.
