Incredible dream last night. SInce New Year’s, I’ve been tracking and writing down my dreams. Most of the time, the entries show something like, “Unclear dream” or “no dream”, with a reference to the Tarot card of the day, which I pick when I get up in the morning. Today, six weeks of writing “unclear dream” every morning paid off, big time.
Admittedly, I didn’t necessarily sleep very well, but I had an excellent time.
Jon, are you coming down today? The weather is sufficiently bad, and iWPS sounds like such a magnificent time, that if you can’t do it, no worries. We’ll reschedule for some other time. Let me know by 8am, if you possibly can. After all, you still don’t have directions, or phone number, or anything…
i remember post-asylum denny’s trips, and you rubbing my head when i was tired at the frantic rabbit that one time.

Well, really, it seemed to work its way into being directly reverse of how you probably recall it.
You wanted a new setting, so we started by sitting down and working out the what’s and wherefores of the shape, then sketching in the details. The pentasilk came early on, when you were working with semi-standard D&D Class tropes, and grew outward from there. Honestly, it started as a sort of D&D pastiche but rapidly started sprawling in thirty different directions.
I rather miss the Spiraleans, though. 🙂 Or whoever it was I was writing for; the overly-civilized warrior-culture invaders. Fell out of the story rather early, sadly.

What do you recall about how it stirred? It’s something of a haze to me, because so much of that early work became integrated in what I’m doing now; yet it’s unclear how it came to be. If you can unpack those memories of it a little for me, it would be very, very much appreciated.
