D&D Update VI

Dinner in ten minutes…. not much time.

So my D&D group is still on hiatus, and may not ever get back up to speed. Sigh.

In the meantime, of course, I’ve done some work on the game. Call me obsessive, whatever. Among my other basic problems, I like to draw maps — mazes, dungeons, ruined catacombs, whatever you want to call them. Always did, always have. Mom actually saved some of mine, even. At this point, I have a reasonable regional game map, and a couple of dungeons partly finished, and a couple of town encounters, and pretty much a core area that could see characters from first through fourth or fifth level without having to go too far afield.

Looking at all my sketchy notes, and my notated sketches, I have to wonder if there’s a market for this thing. I bet there is. Have I got the discipline to put it together as a package? We’ll see.

UPDATE, 12:43 am.

OK, a kid on my floor has just finished typing his exam essay for the other ninth grade history teacher. He’s been working here since like 10:30. I’ve helped out eleven kids in writing these papers, plus helped my own kids to prep for their exams, plus I’m correcting the history department’s comments. Why the hell aren’t I the history department chairman?

    I’d love to…

unfortunately, that’s a time when I can’t reliably get away… I’d do a better job in that kind of game as an occasional walk-on or cameo, rather than as a genuine regular part of the ensemble.
