Morning!

The geese wing by overhead
honking, encouraging friends
and the hills flame with autumn

My school held an auction to raise money for the Annual Fund at Parents’ Weekend. It looks like I’ve been roped into making dinner for four on Wednesday. As if I didn’t already have enough to do this week. Alas. So tomorrow I have to do the shopping for dinner, clean the kitchen and set the table. If there’s time after that, I may go to the Frantic Rabbit reading. Wednesday, I’ll need to prep food in the afternoon, and then have four kids to dinner. Hmmm.

In the meantime, I’m really looking forward to this weekend. and I have some nice plans. And National Novel Writing Month plans have gotten reasonably organized — I ‘ve got an outline of the story I want to tell, and a good sense of what comes where in the story. I think the book could easily be twice the length it is planned to be, but I’m going to try to stick to the outline. I write better when I do.

I should have two checks coming from WW in the near future, for almost a grand. It’s the last of my Bull God assignment, and the first part from my summer project. I’m kinda frustrated about not having the money yet, and also recognizing that I don’t need it to live — that it’s art money, and it winds up being cash I can spend on a new computer or new software, art supplies, or what have you. On the other hand, Christmas is coming, and I need to start thinking about putting cash away for presents and parties and suchlike.

For now, it’s time to go off to school. Be well today, all. , good luck with your exhibit. , I hope that your dad gets through the week with a minimum of pain and suffering. , write up your version of the nutrition exercises, and get them in to your department head; that way he knows which came first. , what’s Lib going as this year? Remember the polka-dotted bat? , my love, have a great and wonderful week.

  1. This is wrong. So wrong.

…then have four kids to dinner.

Such an appetite you have. Four kids is so much. I’m surprised, shocked really. Unless you are only going to eat the best parts, say the underutilized parts of the brain, you know the ones dealing with math, science and history. I recommend sauteing those with a little dry white wine and a finely chopped scallot.

    Off to hell I go.
