Friday’s feature at the Village Arts Center will be the release date for my CD. I have just finished making 30 copies of the darn thing, and the only thing it needs is a Parental Advisory label for explicit lyrics.
For one thing it will help sell more CDs, and for another it does have a few words, particularly “cunt”, which once insisted to me needed to be in one poem in everyone’s oeuvre, in a conversation at the defunct Monday night reading at Java Hut. Your milage may vary. In any case, Midas contains that word and a couple of others.
I am tired, and I’m now going to bed.

I have heard the poem many times. Another word would not fit where this one was used. I don’t know for certain that the whole passage necessarily must have been put the way it was put, but as done, the word fits properly and, oddly, without much profanity. Vulgarity, yes, profanity, I think not.

likely i was being flippant at the time; but i do really like that word – something about way the percussives are arranged… i just think that if you’re gonna cuss in a poem, you should use a word that’s nice to say…

Again, alas, I’m not coming to SPEAK… Originally, I was going to perform at the Black Sheep in Amherst tonight, so I made plans for to go to dinner with Amherst/Noho friends… and now the reading has been cancelled, but the dinner hasn’t. So I’ll be out there tonight.
Ah, don’t worry about it. Use the words that work…it just was never on my active vocabulary list, so I’ve never felt the need to reach for it.
As for me: I’m fair to middlin’, which counts as an improvement.

Alas…. you have proved again to be wiser and more attuned to the muse than I. We find ourselves regretting these things… long after the deed is done and the CDs are burned. 🙁
